I have been thrilled to hear all about science week this week and am eagerly anticipating the report and results from the buggy testing day! Thanks again to Mr Hall and Mrs Cartwright for organising and well done for the incredible amount raised by our families to show gratitude for this. I have been extremely proud and humbled by the Veryan school community and your generosity in supporting local, national and indeed international charities through donations to World Book Day, the FoodBank and Comic Relief tomorrow. I’m aware that times are hard and uncertain for many families and it’s heart-warming to see so many thinking of others and doing what they can.
Towards the end of term we are also hoping to raise funds for Autism Awareness Week—I recognise that this is a lot of donations all close together, please do not feel pressured into giving more than you are able; charities have struggled to hold their usual fundraising events throughout the pandemic and so any help we can give in supporting their work will be greatly appreciated and we feel it is important for us—especially in our week of ‘Compassion’ as our topic, to offer our help to those in need, but equally important is for us to recognise and learn about these charities; what they do and who they help. So just taking part and finding out a little about the charities and those they support is a great thing even without donations!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated food produce and financial assistance to our local FoodBank in thanks to Mr Hall for our science week buggy resources and workshop.
Together we raised an amazing £106.40 and collected a lovely collection of tins and packet goods to be given to the Foodbank for distribution.
