This coming summer, Kiberick class (year 4,5 &6) are invited to attend a residential at Porthpean Outdoor Centre for two days of fun activities and one night sleep over in a camping pod.
Porthpean Outdoor Education Centre is situated just outside of St Austell and enjoys spectacular views over St Austell Bay and easy access to the sea and local countryside. Porthpean OE Centre provides more than just a summer camp as it is a Centre of excellence for outdoor and adventurous activities.
The Centre has its own onsite indoor climbing wall and outdoor high ropes course and is skilled and equipped to provide water-based and land-based outdoor activities throughout the year for all ages and abilities. Most activities take place within easy walking distance of the Centre.
The pod village accommodates a maximum of 35 pupils and 3 leaders. There are eight pods in total, seven pods are set up for the students and each sleep five guests. The eighth pod in village A is for group leaders and accommodates three leaders. The camping pods are heated and installed with electric power plugs, lighting, wooden floors throughout and double-glazed doors.
Veryan School's itinerary is yet to be finalised but with consultation with the children we hope to be able to take part in some of the more unusual and exciting activities on offer from Porthpean Outdoor Centre. The full list of possible opportunities is set out below:
