Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning
Thank you to all our parents that kindly donated pre-wrapped cakes and biscuits that we could enjoy at our virtual World's Biggest Coffee morning on Friday 25th September.
Each of our class bubbles came to school in non-uniform in lieu of a donation to Macmillan, along with donations for the cakes and treats that they enjoyed together. The bubbles recorded some of their coffee mornings to share in a later virtual collective worship.
Together we raised £108 for the charity!
Easter Egg Hunt
The whole school were lucky enough to enjoy an eggcellent eggstravaganza in the shape of an Easter egg hunt! The hunt is normally organised by the PFA but circumstances this year prevented this, however, the Veryan community was NOT going to stop this awful virus spoiling the fun. People were very generous with their donations. Every child got to hunt for 3 eggs each outside hidden and led by our very own Year 6 Easter bunnies !!!
The fun continued inside with our Year 5 assistant bunnies hiding yet more small eggs inside each classroom!! It was a lovely way to end our term.
X Factor comes to Veryan
At Veryan C of E Primary School we do an excellent job of promoting creativity and confidence. I was honoured to be included in this play activity and even got to be a judge !!!

Science Week: Our Diverse Planet
Exploring our field to discover the diversity of flora and fauna ! This was so enjoyable and interesting.
World Book Day
Characters invade Veryan on World Book Day...
We kick started our Spring term with Careers and Science Week. We had some inspiring talks from volunteers telling us about their past and current roles and what attributes we might need to display in the world of work.
We enjoyed dressing up on the first day back in outfits that our chosen career roles may have in the future!
In science we made curds and whey with Carne class, learnt how to make predictions, observations and conclusions in Pendower class and made sugar crystals and plastic in Kiberick....along with a very strange smell for all the school to share on the Friday afternoon!!
Tom Mclaughlin goes back to school !
We had an absolutely inspirational day, listening to how the author Tom McLaughlin overcame his difficulties with dyslexia to become an illustrator and author. We are very glad that the PFA was able to fund this for us.
The whole school joined together in creative workshops around the theme of bonfires and fireworks.
This is a group creating a small musical composition inspired by the noises of fireworks.
