Class Structure

Our school comprises three main classrooms, one of which can be divided into two smaller classrooms when required, a library, office, staff room and lobby.
Our outdoor learning space has separated areas for quiet social games and larger areas for gross motor development with room for ball games, running, use of climbing equipment and low level gym equipment.
We are also lucky enough to have close links with the local sports and social club and village hall, which kindly allow us use of their fantastic sports and recreational facilities for whole school events and after school clubs.
In addition we have an off-site school field which we use for Wild Tribe lessons each week. Our qualified teacher leads activities outside in all weathers and seasons. More information can be found in the Pupils, Class Pages section under 'Wild Tribe.'
Our locality in the village of Veryan also means we are able to explore the beautiful surroundings, local park and pond and Carne beach is only a 15minute walk from the school, offering another opportunity for outdoor, hands-on learning.
From September 2020 our school structure will be as follows:
  • Nursery, Reception and Year 1 - Carne Class with Miss Emeline Goodall & Mrs Hocking
  • Year 2, 3 and 4 - Pendower Class with Miss Blayney & Mrs Spears
  • Year 5 and 6 - Kiberick Class with Mrs Cartwright

Mrs Young will offer teaching support throughout the school as children's needs require. We are also very lucky to have a qualified PE teacher, Mr Webb who coordinates additional PE lessons each week.

We are pleased to be able to offer both morning and afternoon nursery sessions Mon-Fri.
Morning sessions - 9-12noon
Afternoon sessions 12-3pm
If you would like your child to attend morning sessions only, but with the additional lunch hour this would be at a cost of £1.70 (plus a school meal if required).
15 hours of nursery funding is available to children in the term after their 3rd birthday.
